Thomas H. Jing

Thomas H. Jing died June 30, 2004, after a courageous battle with bladder
cancer. He was 65.

Born March 6, 1939, in China, Jing received his doctorate of dental surgery
degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., where he practiced general
dentistry for seven years before returning to the University of Florida in
Gainesville for his specialty training in periodontics.

A desire to share his skill and knowledge with future dentists led him to teach
periodontics at the University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco and
Southern Illinois part time. He taught two years full time at Loma Linda Dental
School in periodontics before setting up a private periodontics office in Davis,
where he practiced for 19 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Lillian Jing of Davis. He will be
greatly missed by his wife, family, friends and patients, his family said.

Friends are invited to attend a funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at the Davis Funeral
Chapel, 116 D St.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in his name to the UC Davis Cancer
Center, 4501 X St., Room 3003, Sacramento, CA 95817.
