Maria E. Ruiz

Maria "Nena" Elena Ruiz died June 27, 2004, at the UC Davis Medical Center in
Sacramento. She was 41.

Born Oct. 7, 1962, in Purepero, Michoacan, Mexico, she had been a 41-year
Woodland resident. She graduated from Woodland High School in 1981. She was
employed in the Tercero Dining Commons at UC Davis and was well loved by everyone.

She is survived by her son, Héctor Ruiz, and her parents, Rafael and Guadalupe
(Reyes) Ruiz, all of Woodland.

She is also survived by her sisters, Lupe Lepe and her husband Enrique of
Madison, Rosario Dark and her husband Christopher and Teresa Ruiz; brothers,
Sergio Ruiz and his wife Maria, and Rafael Ruiz Jr. and his wife Alejandra, all
of Woodland; nieces, Ariana, Lisset and Jazmin Lepe, Angelica and Veronica Dark
and Cecilia Ruiz; and nephew, Ismael Ruiz.

Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. today at McNary's Chapel, 458 College
St. in Woodland. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at Holy Rosary
Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St. in Woodland.

A Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary, with burial to follow in
St. Joseph's Cemetery, 503 California St. in Woodland.

Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel.
