Carlos Garasi

Carlos Garasi died June 25, 2004, after a brief illness. He was 95.

Born Nov. 12, 1908, he came to the United States from the Philippine Islands at
the age of 18. He was met by his brother and lifetime companion Harry, who had
arrived in the United States five years earlier.

The brothers lived and worked in Yolo County for 65 years, 48 of those years
living in Davis.

Carlos will be remembered for his simplicity of life. He was content taking care
of his brother, working in his garden and enjoying his fishing trips to the
Sacramento River. His kind heart and generosity will be truly missed by all who
loved him, especially the Ordonez and Cooper children, his family said.

He is survived by his brother Harry and best friend and caregiver Channon Cooper.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Chapel, 116 D
St. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic
Church, 14th and B streets in Davis. Burial will follow at the Davis Cemetery.
