Naomi E. Surplus

Naomi Evelyn Marie Surplus died Aug. 7, 2004, in Davis. She was 83.

Born July 7, 1921, in St. Louis, she was the youngest of eight children.

She graduated from Culver Stockton College in Canton, Mo., in 1942. She was a
teacher for 32 years. She was a member and matron in the Stockton chapter of the
Order of Eastern Star.

She became a Davis resident in 1999.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 53 years, Dr. Ray D.
Surplus, who died in 1996.

She is survived by her sister, Lorraine Bueneman of St. Louis; daughter Rayna
and her husband Gary Bohnet of Lodi; son Dr. Mahlon D. Surplus of Stockton; and
daughter Naray and her husband Mark Eggleston of Davis; and grandsons Drew and
Evan.

Services are private. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the
donor's choice.
