Blodgett William "Bill" Edward Blodgett, a former Davis High English teacher, died unexpectedly on Aug. 12, 2004, of an aneurysm. He was 74. He was born on Sept. 29, 1930, in Oak Park, Ill., and moved to California in 1956 after earning a master's degree at the University of Chicago and marrying. He began teaching at Davis High in 1961 and retired in 1992. Family members say many will remember his wry sense of amusement at human comedy and his generous nature. He is survived by his wife Harriet Blodgett of Davis, his son Bruce Blodgett of Santa Cruz, grandsons Kevin and Kyle Blodgett, and brother Robert Blodgett of Northfield, Ill. A memorial gathering and buffet is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Aug. 29 at the Veterans' Memorial Center, 203 E. 14th St. Additional Comments: Submitted with the permission of the "The Davis Enterprise."
