Kasmire Nancy Lynn Kasmire, 48, died Jan. 16, 2004, at her childhood home after a valiant struggle with cancer. At her side were her mother, Evelyn Kasmire, and her stepmother, Arleen Kasmire, both of Davis. She was born in Riverside and spent her childhood in Davis, graduating from Martin Luther King High School. She spent most of her adult life in Anchorage, Alaska. She was known for her love of life and sense of adventure and will be greatly missed by all who knew her, her family says. She is survived by her mother, Evelyn Kasmire, and brother, Charles Kasmire, both of Davis; her sister, Kathleen Kasmire of Eureka; her sons, Eli Ross and Glade Lusk of Anchorage; her daughter, Shannon Lusk of Tacoma, Wash.; her grandchildren, River, Sierra and Silas Ross of Anchorage; her stepmother, Arleen Kasmire; and her stepsisters, Audry and Jayne. At her request, she will be cremated. Her friends are invited to a celebration of her life at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Davis, 27074 Patwin Road. In lieu of flowers, she requested that donations be made in her name to the Heifer Project.
