Born in Martinsville, Ohio, on Aug. 10, 1926, to Howard and Lura Worrell Hiatt, she was 76 years old. She attended public school in Port William, Ohio, where she was president of her junior and senior classes. She attended Wilmington College where she was a member of Delta Omega Theta sorority. After college, she began working at Wright Patterson Airbase where she met and married George D. Davis in 1947. She traveled with George and their four children to his different duty stations stateside and also went to Spain. After her husband's retirement from the Air Force in 1966, the family moved to California and settled in Davis where she lived and worked at UC Davis. She worked in UCD's equipment management department until her husband was transferred to the Panama Canal zone, where she lived until 1976. She then returned to her home and job in Davis. She worked at UCD until her retirement in 1991. She was an ardent arts lover. She volunteered for UCD Present for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Davis, where she participated in choir and played piano for the children's choir. She sometimes served as pianist for the First Southern Baptist Church. She also sang occasionally with the choirs of First Southern Baptist and St. James Church. She loved to sing. She was kind of heart and never turned anyone away. She was always there for anyone in need. She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, George G. Davis. She is survived by her daughter Georgia Morris and her husband Glen of Rio Linda; daughter Anita Garcia and her husband Rocky of Winters; sons Glenn and David, both of Davis; grandchildren Rick Caster, Kristin Sleuter and her husband Ron, all of Davis; Jayson, Logan and Marlaina Garcia, all of Winters; great-grandson Bradley Sleuter of Davis; sister Eleanor J. McKee of Xenia, Ohio; niece Kathy Erickson and her children, all of Orange; nephew Dana McKee and his wife Kathleen and their three sons of South Carolina. A memorial service to celebrate her life will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church of Davis on Anderson Road.
