Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net July 23, 2004, 12:53 am "The Davis Enterprise," Monday, October 28, 2002 Alice Dexter Binns Services for Alice Dexter Binns, who died on Oct. 23, 2002, in Fair Oaks, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Smith's Colonial Chapel, 14 Main St., Winters. She was born on Sept. 9, 1911, in Winters, on the Dexter Ranch. She was 91. She was raised and attended school in Winters. She graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in education and was a teacher for more than 20 years. She married Charles H. Binns in 1939 and they remained married for 61 years until his death. She was a resident of Salinas for more than 50 years. Her parents, Elmir and Ivy Dexter, preceded her in death as did a sister, Geneive Dexter. She is survived by her sons, Richard Binns and wife Rosie of Reedley; Charles Binns and wife Emily of Sacramento; and sister Gwendolyn Shell and husband Horace of Davis. Grandchildren include Tisha Hankard and her husband John J. of Sacramento; Billy Binns of Sacramento; Christina Gagnon and husband Jim of Fresno and Victoria Binns of Sacramento. Burial will take place at Winters Cemetery. Remembrances may be made in her name to the Cypress Community Church, 681 Monterey-Salinas Highway, Salinas, CA 93908.
