Boone died in Sacramento's Mercy San Juan Hospital Monday, April 19, 2004, at age 78. Born Aug. 6, 1925, in Shawnee, Okla., he had been a Yolo County resident for 57 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was awarded the American Theater Medal and the American Area Campaign Medal. He owned and operated his own gardening and landscaping business in Yolo County. Survivors include his wife, Adelyne (Flath) Boone; daughters, Darlene Boone of Vallejo, Vivian Morales of Santa Rosa, Traci Shera of Guinda, and Staci Gonzales, and Lenora Timco, both of Woodland; sons, Eugene Boone and wife Mary of Washington, and Andy Timco, also of Woodland; stepchildren, Vivian Reading and husband Dale and Jerry Speck and wife Joyce, all of Colusa; and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Rowena McMahan of Gig Harbor, Wash., Virginia Ankron of Roseville, Lynn Boone of Sacramento; and brothers, Donald Boone of Chico, Glenn Boone of Sacramento, McKinley Boone of St. Paul, Kans., and Elmo Boone of Woodland. Mr. Boone was preceded in death by his son, Steve Boone; sisters, Lula Daughtrey and Lorraine Lankins; and brothers, Franklin, Malcolm and Kenneth Boone. The family requests memorials be directed to American Heart Association, 1710 Gilbreth, Burlingame, 94010. Arrangements are under the direction of Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland. Services: Visitation is scheduled at 9 a.m. Friday, April 23, at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland, with a funeral service to follow, at 10 a.m. Interment, with military honors, is scheduled at 11:15 a.m., in Monument Hill Memorial Park.
