Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net July 31, 2004, 12:32 am “Winters Express,” Thursday, August 31, 2000 Mary Ellen Reeves Mary Ellen Reeves passed away in Sacramento on Aug. 18, 2000, at the age of 98. A native of Cainsville, Missouri, Mrs. Reeves graduated from Duke University with a degree in music. She spent most of her adult life as a minister’s wife. Prior to attending college, Mrs. Reeves taught in a one-room school for three years, riding her horse to school each day. She was a long-time member of D.A.R., and a past chaplain. She was a resident of the Sacramento area for 39 years, and was active with women’s group at Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was the devoted mother of James Richard Reeves, and Roulou Avila. Loving grandmother of Thomas Tubman, Rene Carrick, Terance Tubman, Bethany Reeves, Stanley reeves, Bradley Reeves, Creighton Avila, and Celeste Avila, she also leaves behind four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Harold V. Reeves, former pastor of Winters Christian church. Funeral services have been held.
