Born July 1, 1925, in McQueenie, Texas, Mr. Barrera had been a Yolo County resident for 53 years. He attended school in Texas and worked for Concrete Products. He was a corporal in Marine Corp during World War II from 1943 to 1946. Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Barrera; daughters, Theresa and Laura Barrera; sons, George and wife Kathy, Edmond and wife Kris; seven grandchildren; sisters, Isabel Duran, Rose Gloria; and brothers, Paul, James, Richard, Barrera. He was preceded in death by his parents, Primitivo and Isabel Barrera; and two brothers. The family requests memorials be directed to Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland. Services: A rosary is scheduled at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, at McNary's Chapel, Woodland. A funeral mass is scheduled at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 22, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland, with a graveside service to follow.
