She was 61. Mrs. Hansen was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on Jan. 19, 1945 to Wayne and Mary Knauff. She had been a Yolo County resident for 12 years. She attended Paradise Adventist School for elementary school and high school at Monterey Bay Academy where she graduated in 1963. She attended college at Pacific Union College, La Sierra College and Loma Linda University, where she graduated in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. She practiced dental hygiene in San Bernardino and in Canada along the British Columbia coast before moving to the Woodland area in 1972 where she and her husband operated their own dental practice until 1984. They then continued to work in private practice in Sacramento until moving to Susanville in 2004. In Susanville she worked as a dental hygienist for Drs. Linda and Curtis Vixie and their associate Dr. Veryl Drury. She was a member of the Lassen County Dental Hygiene Association and Laueate Theta Psi Sorority. Survivors include Mrs. Hansen's husband of 39 years, Larry Hansen of Susanville; her sons, Jereme Hansen of Vancouver, Wash. and Jason Hansen and his wife Tobreth; and her granddaughters, Daitarih and Phyllis all of San Jose; her brothers, Daryl Knauff and his wife Stelle of Sequim, Wash. and Roger Knauff and his wife Gayle of Grants Pass, Ore.; her sister-in-law, Darlene Hansen of Dawsonville, Ga.; her brothers-in-law, Floyd Hansen and his wife Rose of Susanville, Don Hansen and his wife Michelle of Plymouth, Mass.; three nieces; seven nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Mary Knauff. The family requests memorials in Mrs. Hansen's name be directed to the Susanville Symphony Society, P.O. Box 2172, Susanville, CA 96130. Services: A celebration of Mrs. Hansen's life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Hotel Woodland, 436 Main St., Woodland with Dick Matthews of Woodland officiating. Truckee Meadows Cremation and Burial Services of Reno assisted the family with arrangements. Published in the Daily Democrat on 2/15/2006.
