Mr. Hennies was born Jan. 16, 1923 in Medford, Ore. to Elmer and Elizabeth Hennies. He had been a Yolo County resident for nine years. During World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Army 1st Calvary Artillery and served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Edison Electric. He was a life-long member of the VF W and Calectric Veteran's Club. Survivors include Mr. Hennies' stepsons, Dan, Steven and Colonel Miller; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Dawn Ayrabe and her husband Joe; his brother-in-law, Les Briner; and six nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Nina E. Hennies; his son, Harold Hennies; and his parents. Services: A funeral is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10 at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland. Interment will follow the service at Monument Hill Memorial Park.
