Joel Hernandez died at his home in Woodland Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006 at age 62.

Mr. Hernandez was born April 4, 1943 in Durango, Mexico. He had been a Yolo 
County resident for 20 years. He served 21 years in the U.S. Air Force in 
communication and special forces and had a master's degree in psychology.

Survivors include Mr. Hernandez's wife of 18 years, Mary Hernandez of 
Woodland; his daughter, Rhonda Kormanian of Hartford, Conn.; his son, Craig 
Hernandez of Lander, Wyo.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his 
sisters, Lucila Hernandez of Woodland, Josefine Velez of Santa Barbara, Imelda 
Villalpando and Delia Nevarez both of Davis, Zenaida Razo of Pismo Beach; and 
his brother, Jess A. Hernandez of Davis. He was preceded in death by his 
parents, Isabel and Pastor Hernandez.

The family requests memorials in Mr. Hernandez's name be directed to The 
American Cancer Society, 1765 Challenge Way, Suite 115, Sacramento, 95815.

Services: A graveside service is scheduled for noon, Wednesday, Jan. 18 at the 
Davis Cemetery. Clergy from St. James Catholic Church will officiate. McNary's 
Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
