Silvia Garza died at her home in Woodland on Sunday, Oct. 30 at age 47. 

Mrs. Garza was born June 23, 1959 in Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Jose 
and Josefa (Medellin) Ibarra. She had been a Yolo County resident for four 
years. She studied nursing and medical training at the Hidalgo Institute. She 
was a homemaker for more than 25 years.

Survivors include Mrs. Garza's husband of 26 years, Lucio Garza of Woodland; 
her daughter, Odalys Garza of Mexico; her sisters, Rosalinda Garza Rivera of 
Fresno, Margarita Rivera Garza of Monterrey, Mexico, Irma Leticia Rivera 
Montoya of Tamaulipaz, Mexico and Maria Elena Rivera Sierra of Montemorelos, 
Mexico; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 
her parents, Jose and Josefa Ibarra; her sister, Maria de al Luz Rivera; and 
her brother, Jose R. Rivera.

The family requests memorials in Mrs. Garza's name be directed to the charity 
of the donor's choice.

Services: A funeral is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 7 with interment to follow 
at Panteon Municipal in Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Evergreen Funeral 
Service of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
