Born Aug. 4, 1947, Mr. Jimenez was a native of Woodland and had been a lifelong Yolo County resident. He was the son of the late Alfred Macias Jimenez and Jean Dallas (Wilcox) Jimenez and a Woodland High School graduate. After a 4-year period of working for Heidrick Farming Company, he joined the U.S. Army in 1968, serving in the Vietnam War. He completed a military career of 17 years and earned the following awards: Commendation Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Air Medal, Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, Marksman and Expert Rifleman medals, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Civil Actions Medal and the Bronze Star. Survivors include his companion of 14 years, Kathy Arreguin of West Sacramento; daughters, Olivia Howard and husband, Art and Moriah Hancock of Sacramento, Martina Jimenez of Woodland, Andrea Munt of Rocklin and Amanda Jimenez of West Sacramento; sons, Ben Higa and Jerome Jimenez Jr. of Woodland; grandchildren, Jeremy and Jacob Higa, Vincent and Marcos Lara, Mary Jane Hernandez and Roman Jimenez. Also surviving are his sisters, Barbara Jimenez of Yuba City, Jean Sharma and Kay O'Donald of Sacramento, Diana Valdepena and Alfreda Martinez of Woodland, and Iona Rodriguez of Chico; and brother, Alfred Jimenez of Sacramento. Services: A funeral service is scheduled at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., with a military chaplain officiating. Interment will take place at a later date, in the veteran's section of Woodland Cemetery. Memorials, in the name of Mr. Jimenez, may be directed to UC Davis Cancer Research Center, 2315 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, 95817. Kraft Bros.
