Mr. Klinkhammer was born to Gerhard and Eunice Klinkhammer on May 1, 1922 in Leoti, Kan. in Wichita County. He was a resident of Woodland for approximately 69 years. On April 8, 1942 he joined the Marine Corps serving in the Pacific Theater as an aircraft mechanic. He received an honorable discharge on Oct. 19, 1945. He was a general contractor and owner of Klinkhammer Building Company. He was a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and a past Elks Club member. Survivors include Mr. Klinkhammer's daughter, Lori Williams and her husband Jim; his sons, Robert Klinkhammer and his wife Kathie, all of Woodland and David Klinkhammer and his wife Darla of Kimball, Neb.; his grandchildren, Kayle Fullerton and her husband Brian, Julia Klinkhammer, Rachel Audrey, Ryan, Evan and Derek Williams, all of Woodland and Tara, Blair, Darbi and Lacey from Nebraska; his great-grandchildren, Cami Fullerton and Katilyn and Andrew Baugus; his sisters, Jean Gormley of Woodland and Fern Willey of Bend, Ore. and his long-time companion, Gwen Miller. He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, June Audrey Klinkhammer; his parents Gerhard and Eunice Klinkhammer; his sister, Erma Carr; his brother, Everett Klinkhammer; and half brothers, Henry and Frank Klinkhammer. The family requests memorials in Mr. Klinkhammer's name be directed to the Woodland Christian Church Memorial Fund, 509 College St., Woodland, 95695; Elderly Nutrition - Meals on Wheels, 40 N. East St., Woodland, 95776; or Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617. Services: A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at the Christian Church, 509 College St., Woodland; with Pastor Larry Love officiating.
