McWherter, Gladys Fern       
 
Dec. 28, 1925 - Dec. 20, 2005

Gladys McWherter died in Edmond, Okla. Dec. 20 at age 79.

Mrs. McWherter was born Dec. 28, 1925 in Woodland to Alvin and Jennie Goette. 
She had been a Yolo County resident for 76 years. She was raised and educated 
in Woodland, graduating from Woodland High School in 1944 and moved to Davis 
in 1947. She was retired from UC Davis as a lab tech. She was a member of Our 
Faith Lutheran Church in Davis and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Edmond.

Survivors include Mrs. McWherter's husband of 38 years, Robert "Bob" McWherter 
of Edmond, Okla.; her daughters, Kathy Loeber and her husband Ken of Edmond, 
Okla. and Jennie Solari and her husband Phil of Powder Springs, Ga.; eight 
grandchildren; her sisters, Mabel and Esther Davis both of Woodland; and 
numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her 
daughters, Cynthia and baby sister.

The family requests memorials in Mrs. McWherter's name be directed to the St. 
Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.

Services: Services were held Dec. 22 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in 
Edmond, Okla. Interment was at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Okla. 
The Matthews Funeral Home of Edmond, Okla. assisted the family with 
arrangements.
