Mr. Morris was born Nov. 11, 1933 in Gore, Okla. He had been a Yolo County resident for 62 years. He graduated from Woodland High School in 1951 and attended CSU San Luis Obispo and UC Davis. From 1952 to 1954 he served in the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War. After his service, he worked for International Minerals for three years, Aero-Jet for one year; UC Davis for 24 years and was president/CEO of Stormont Laboratories Inc. for 23 years. He was an Indian Guide for the YMCA; coached Little League; a member of the 20-30 Club, UC Davis Cal Aggie Flying Farmers, Kiwanis Club, past president of the board of directors for Yolo Employment Services Inc., International Society of Animal Genetics and the Cherokee Tribe of Oklahoma. Survivors include Mr. Morris' wife of 50 years, Audrey Morris of Woodland; his daughters, Kathleen Beatty and her husband John of Woodland and Wilma Holgerson and her husband Kreg of Lafayette; his sons, Larry Morris and his wife Sherri of Sacramento; Dale Morris and his wife Diane of Woodland and David Morris and his fiance April Martinez of Sacramento; his grandchildren, Kyle, Amanda, Kevin, Hayleigh, Natalie, Chloe and Grayson Morris, Chelsea, Rachel and Hannah Beatty and Tucker Holgerson; his sisters, Jonna Huff and her husband Hugh, Thana Ratliff and her husband Buck and Deanna Isenhower and her husband Spencer, all of Yuba City; and his brother, Darrell Morris of Arma, Kan. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruby Morris. Services: A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
