Sept. 15, 1914 - Jan. 3, 2006 Charles C. Pearse of Winters died on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006 at age 91. Mr. Pearse was born in Woodland to Rufus and Mary Heard Pearse on Sept. 15, 1914. He had lived in Winters for 84 years, raised by Bertha and Bill Young. He graduated from Winters High School and attended UC Davis. He worked for PG&E for 40 years. He farmed his 5-acre ranch and was a member of the Winters Volunteer Fire Department and St. Anthony Catholic Church. Survivors include Mr. Pearse's wife, Rose Walters Pearse; his son, Tom Pearse and his wife Justine; his grandchildren, Carolyn Heines, Tom Pearse and his wife Adrienne, Scott Pearse, Steve Pearse and his wife Melissa and Joey Pearse; his great-grandchildren, Luci and Molly Heines; Juliana, Mikayla and Cassandra Pearse; his stepchildren, Joe and Sharon Walters; Kathleen and John Ford; Mike Walters and Tim Walters; his step-grandchildren, Tim, Nick and Ashley and step-great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Damian Walters; his brother, Bob Pearse; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Marjorie Walters Pearse; his stepdaughter, Patricia Walters; and his brother, Elmore Pearse. The family requests memorials in Mr. Pearse's name be made to Yolo Hospice: P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617 or St. Anthony Building Fund or Altar Society, 511 Main St., Winters, 95694. Services: A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Winters. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7 also at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Winters Cemetery.
