Burton C. Reed died in Modesto Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006 at age 89.

Mr. Reed was born Aug. 9, 1916 in Saginaw, Mich. He had been a Yolo County 
resident for 21 years. He attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. He was a 
Baptist minister for 50 years, including 21 years as a Baptist minister of 
visitation in Woodland.

Survivors include Mr. Reed's daughters, Carla Hilson and her husband Joe of 
Hayward and Marilyn Thomas and her husband Harlan of Modesto; his 
grandchildren, Jim Hilson and his wife Lori, Rod Thomas and his wife Richele, 
Kristie Garrett and her husband Larry, Cheryl Crone and her husband Ron, Linda 
Napoli and her husband Steve, Gary Hilson and his wife Cheryl, Ronnie Reed and 
Marc Reed and his wife Angel; his great-grandchildren, Sarah and Stephanie 
Hilson, Ashley Schoen, Cory Crone, Gannon Reed, Connor and Parker Garrett and 
Shane O'Neil. He was preceded in death by his wife, Meryl Reed and his son, 
David Reed. 

The family requests memorials in Mr. Reed's name be directed to the Burton 
Reed Memorial Fund c/o First Baptist Church, 1616 West St., Woodland, 95695.

Services: Visitation is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at First 
Baptist Church, 1616 West St., Woodland. A funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. 
Saturday at First Baptist Church. Interment will follow the service at 
Monument Hill Memorial Park, 35036 County Road 22, Woodland. McNary's Chapel 
is assisting the family with arrangements.
