Feb. 15, 1937 - Jan. 12, 2006

Charlene L. (Higby) Samples of Patterson died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006 at 
Turlock Emmanuel Medical Center at age 68.

Mrs. Samples was born Feb. 15, 1937 in Chicago. She had been a Yolo County 
resident for 35 years. She attended school in Livermore. In Woodland, she 
worked as a nurse at Woodland Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years. 

Survivors include Mrs. Samples' children, Donald Lee Samples Jr. of Idaho 
Falls, Idaho, Dennis Clyde Samples and his wife Patty of Severy, Kan., Cheryl 
Jean Jacobson and her husband Jake of Patterson and Carene Lin Brandrup and 
her husband Monte of Manteca; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and 
her brother, Lloyd Higby and his wife Jean of Manteca. She was preceded in 
death by her husband of 42 years, Donald Samples Sr.

The family requests memorials in Mrs. Samples' name be directed to the charity 
of the donor's choice.

Services: An open house memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 
22 at the home of Carene and Monte Brandrup. For more information please call 
P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home at (209) 239-1242. Inurnment will be at Monument 
Hill Memorial Park in Woodland. P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home is assisting the 
family with arrangements.
