James Everette Vernon of Woodland died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006 at age 74.

Mr. Vernon was born Sept. 9, 1931 in Missouri. He had been a Yolo County 
resident for 69 years. He worked for the County of Yolo in road maintenance.

Survivors include Mr. Vernon's daughters, Debbie Juarez and her husband Joe of 
Woodland; his sons, Robert Vernon and his wife Charlotte, Stanley Vernon and 
Kenneth Vernon and his wife Lisa, all of Woodland; his grandchildren, Mark, 
Angel, April, Amber, Kenneth Vernon, Suzie Smith and Kristine Baird; seven 
great-grandchildren; and his sister, Naomi of Missouri. He was preceded in 
death by his parents, Lee and Letha Vernon and his sisters, Geneva Steele and 
Reva Vanette.

Services: Respecting the wishes of Mr. Vernon, private services are scheduled. 
McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
