Mrs. Walker was born Dec. 11, 1909 in Lenox, Iowa to the late George and Fannie Martin. She had been a Yolo County resident for about seven years. She was a graduate of Whittier College in Whittier. She worked as an elementary school teacher and as a housemother at the University of Idaho-Moscow and at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Roseburg, Ore. and Woodland. Survivors include Mrs. Walker's sons, Paul W. Walker and his wife Carol, Martin D. Walker and his wife Betty Jo and Warren R. Walker and his wife Carol Jo; her grandchildren, Wendy Walker Davis, Tamara Brunson, Randy Walker, Kara Walker Clarkson, Robert Walker, Wesley Walker, Trina Walker March, Sabrina Chudamolka and Andy Walker; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and her sister, Eunice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phil R. Walker; her parents; and her sister, Margretta Paine. The family requests memorials in Mrs. Walker's name be directed to the Scholarship Fund at United Methodist Church of Woodland, 212 Second St., Woodland, 95695. Services: A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21 at United Methodist Church of Woodland, 212 Second St., Woodland, with Dr. Warren Walker officiating. Inurnment will a private service at Monument Hill Memorial Park. North Sacramento Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Published in the Daily Democrat on 1/19/2006.
