Ward, Alvin "Al"     
 
Alvin "Al" Ward died at Mather Veterans Hospital Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005 at age 
44.

Mr. Ward was born Feb. 28, 1961 in Oakland to George Ward and Rose Rowe. He 
had been a Yolo County resident for most of his life. He attended Woodland 
area schools and worked as a roofer.

Survivors include Mr. Ward's stepmother, Estella Ward of Woodland. His sisters 
Wanda Ward, Danielle Ward Benson, Georgette Ward Sanders and Rula Ward 
Marzariego of Sacramento; his brother George Ward of Arbuckle; his brothers 
Jerry Mitchell, Stevie Mitchell, Charles Vance and sister Janelle Mitchell of 
San Francisco; and brother Lamar Vance of Arizona; and numerous nephews and 
nieces. He was preceded in death by his father George Ward and mother Rose 
Rowe.

Services: A celebration of Mr. Ward's life is scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. 
at Greater Second Baptist Church in Woodland. Donations can be made to the 
Walter House or Cache Creek Lodge in lieu of flowers.
