Vanderlaan, Pearl Dorren       
 
Sept. 16, 1917 - Nov. 5, 2005

Pearl D. Vanderlaan died at her home in Woodland Saturday, Nov. 5 at age 88.

Mrs. Vanderlaan was born Sept. 16, 1917 in Hill City, Idaho to Henry William 
and Willie (Daniels) Watterson. She had been a Yolo County resident for 71 
years. She worked as a bus driver for 22 years and at the Woodland Hospital as 
a pink lady. Previously, she worked for Contadina Foods at the processing 
plant in Woodland. She also volunteered her time to transport handicapped and 
special needs people and visiting the sick and elderly.

Survivors include Mrs. Vanderlaan's daughters, Charlotte Brown of Oregon, Ann 
Vanderlaan and Lynn Vanderlaan, both of Woodland; her grandchildren, Scott 
Irby of Woodland, Shirley Knutsen of Anacortes, Wash. and David Brown of 
Troutdale, Ore.; several great-grandchildren; her brother, James Watterson of 
Woodland and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her 
husband, Drewis Vanderlaan; her daughter, Shirley Irby and her parents.

The family requests memorials in Mrs. Vanderlaan's name be directed to "The 
Chapel," P.O. Box 148, Troutdale, Ore., 97060; Attn. the Summer Camp 
Scholarship Program. 

Services: A private interment ceremony for family members was held on 
Wednesday, Nov. 9. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland is assisting the 
family with arrangements.
