Margaret Jean Buchanan died in Woodland on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005 at age of 82.

Mrs. Buchanan was born Oct. 26, 1922 in Manteca. She had been a resident of 
Woodland for 67 years. Mrs. Buchanan worked for many years as a housekeeper, 
most recently at Stollwood Convalescent Hospital in Woodland. She was also 
actively involved in many community activities, including the American Legion 
Auxiliary, the Woodland Eagles Auxiliary, the Rebekah's, and the Knights 
Landing Garden Club. She also worked as a volunteer at Woodland Memorial 
Hospital and Stollwood Convalescent Hospital.

Survivors include Mrs. Buchanan's son Robert C. Buchanan of Gridley; daughter 
Wanda L. Graham and her husband Greg of Pleasant Hill; grandson Ian Matthew 
Graham of Pleasant Hill; sister JoAnn Ciemny and her husband Ron of Gridley; 
nephew Wesley Lee of Woodland; nieces Vivian Constance of Woodland; and Lori 
Ambrosino of Antioch. She was preceded in death by his son Gary Buchanan; 
brother Robert Westervelt; mother Margaret Donahue; and stepfather LeRoy 
Donahue.

The family requests memorials in Mrs. Buchanan's name be directed to a 
favorite charity.

Services: Visitation hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7 at McNary's 
Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. 
Saturday, Oct. 8 at McNary's Chapel, followed by a graveside service at 
Woodland Cemetery.
