Feb. 24, 1909 - Feb. 19, 2006

Meryl Arling "Wilkie" Wilkendorf of Woodland died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006 at age 
96.

Mr. Wilkendorf was born Feb. 24, 1909 in Woodland. He was a life-long Woodland 
resident. He graduated from Woodland High School in 1930 and was a farmer and 
worked for Spreckels Sugar, Coca-Cola and the city of Woodland. He was a 
member of Woodland United Methodist Church, a 75-year Mason, volunteer for 
Community Care Car and a Senior Gleaners.

Survivors include Mr. Wilkendorf's wife of 70 years, Margaret Wilkendorf of 
Woodland; his daughter, Phyllis Holmes of Sheep Ranch; his son, Richard 
Wilkendorf of El Dorado Hills; his grandchildren, Stephen and Jeffery 
Wilkendorf and Scott and Eric Davis; and eight great-grandchildren. He was 
preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.

The family requests memorials in Mr. Wilkendorf's name be directed to Yolo 
Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617.

Services: Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23 at 
McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland. A memorial service is scheduled 
for 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24 at United Methodist Church, 212 Second St., 
Woodland with Pastor John Sublett officiating. McNary's Chapel is assisting 
the family with arrangements.
