She was 92 years old. Rosy was born to Henry and Dora Patton on Sept. 10, 1913 in Ashfork, Ariz. She had a brother, Henry and three sisters, Ruth, Dora and Mary. She graduated from Samuel Merritt College of Nursing in Oakland in 1936 and became a Registered Nurse. Her first job was in Woodland. She practiced nursing for over 40 years. The last 17 years of her career she worked at UCD Medical Center in Sacramento. She retired as one of the Supervisors of Nursing at the facility. Rosy was a member of the North Sacramento United Methodist Church in Sacramento. She was a long-time member of the Woodlake Mother's Club. In her final two years she was made an honorary member. After her retirement from the nursing field in 1976, she joined the Retired Nurse's Association. Rosy enjoyed and was active in Women's Forum. She also volunteered her time to Channel 3 for Action. During her leisure time, Rosy loved knitting, sewing, reading, traveling with her husband, and frequent trips to the family cabin in Chester. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren. Rosy was a kind, caring and giving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her sons, Bart Henry Worley and wife Charlene of North Highlands and Thomas Cummins Worley and wife Victoria of Woodland; granddaughters, Kimberly McArn and husband Mario of Stockton, Pamela Pekarek and husband John of Burlington, Colo., and Brandy Houser and husband Chris of Modesto; grandson, Cody Worley of North Highlands; four great-grandchildren, Taylor and Myles McArn, Jaiden and Zachary Pekarek; nieces, Patricia Ghiglieri and husband Robert of Folsom and Sally Mellinger of San Carlos; and sister-in- law, Louise Smith of Maui, Hawaii. Her loving husband of 55 years, Bart White Worley Jr., her parents Henry and Dora Patton and siblings Mary, Ruth, Henry and Dora preceded her in death. The family would like to acknowledge and extend a sincere thank you to Lorna and Larry Doyle of Sacred Heart Care Home in Woodland for the wonderful care they gave to Rose over the past two and a half years. A celebration of her life will be held at the United Methodist Church, 650 El Camino Ave., Sacramento on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 10 a.m. A gathering of family and friends will immediately follow at Rosy's home in Sacramento. Her final resting place will be at Chester District Cemetery in Chester. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
