ALAMOSA.
    The principal town of Conejos county; railroad and geographical
    center of the San Luis Valley on the D. & R. G. R. R. from Denver
    to Durango and New Mexico. A branch from the main line runs east.
    Another branch runs in a westerly direction up the valley of the
    Rio Grande to Creede. Alamosa is situated in the finest agricultural
    valley in the West. Every branch of business necessary for a town
    surrounded by an agricultural section, and the railroad shops.
    Population 3,500.
    Altitude 7,500 feet.
