It seems almost useless to say much in regard to one that was so well known and loved in our city and country as Mrs. Terry. One of the most faithful of wives and mothers, an exemplary Christian, for she placed the love of Christ far above mere church membership, living every day the pure life that made her beloved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed but her memory still remains. Clarissa Jane Burbank was born in Enfield, Conn., sometimes called Thompsonville. Was married to Seth Terry in 1845, at that place, where they also celebrated their silver wedding; but their golden wedding was celebrated in Pueblo. They have had eleven children born to them, nine of whom have had families of their own, seven of them now living; also thirty-one grand children and one great grand child. Just half of their married life was spent in Colorado, and the last years were the happiest. They came to Colorado in the spring of 1871, Mrs. Terry being one of the original members of the M.E. church of this city. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church, Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. C. H. Koyl and Rev. D. B. Vosseller, the interment taking place at the longmont cemetery.
