The property is located on the east side of the Arkansas River, about 13 miles north of Buena Vista. The cemetery is directly across the Arkansas River from the old brick Pine Creek School House and about one-half mile behind the two-story farmhouse, in a small clearing surrounded by pine and aspen trees. Permission is required to visit this site. (Sec. 27, T12S, R79W, 6th P.M.) There are nine interments here, dating from ca. 1885 to 1946. No cemetery records are available, and the cemetery is now abandoned. BAUMDICKER, Antonie BRADKTKY (BRADTKE) Born Nov 1857 in Germany, Died age 61 yrs, in Aug 1923. Mrs. Frank BAUMDICKER. Immigrated in 1871 or 1873. A. Bradtke's farm was located north of Riverside, CO in the S 1/2 NE 1/4, NE 1/4 SE !/4 Sec 17 Twp 12 R79. (Chaffee County Republican 17 Aug 1923) (1900 and 1910 census: 5 children, 3 living) BAUMDICKER, Children (two) Burned to death Dec 1885; said to be buried together in one of the iron fenced graves. (1885 Colorado State Census Records: Ella, age 3 yrs, and Oscar, age 10 mos [b. Sep 1884], were both alive [p. 24, E.D. #1]). (Chaffee County Democrat 26 Dec 1885) BAUMDICKER, Frank b. 23 Oct 1855 (1854?) in Germany; d. 1 Dec 1943. An old-time [* note - Riverside farmer] resident of Chaffee County died [* note - of nephritis] at his home in Riverside at noon Tuesday, Dec. 1st, at the age of 88. He was born in Germany on Oct. 23, 1855. He travelled extensively, coming to Central America at the age of 19 years. From there he came to the U.S., travelling through many of the southern and eastern states. He returned to Germany for a visit and, on his return, went to New Jersey. Later, he came to Denver and then to Leadville and finally went into business at Fairplay. In time he arrived in Chaffee County and accepted work on the ranch that later became his home. While there, he married Miss Antonie BRADKTKY and homesteaded the property now known as the KRUEGAR place. To this union were born five children. [ * note - Ella, Oscar, Walter, Rudolph, and Carl] The two eldest were burned to death when quite young, and a son preceded him in death 12 years ago. The family moved to Granite from their homestead in 1896, in which city Mr. BAUMDICKER went into the liquor business. In 1907 the family moved back into the home where Mr. BAUMDICKER died. He was probably one of the oldest residents of the County and could tell many interesting stories of Indians in this area. He was a great hunter and fisherman. He was always interested in any project that might improve his community. Mr. BAUMDICKER's wife preceded him in death 20 years ago. He is survived by two sons, Rudolph and Carl of Granite, four grand-daughters, Fay BAUMDICKER of Grand Junction, Ada LUNDGRIN (sic) of Dillon, Sadie and Bonnie BAUMDICKER of Riverside and one grandson, Edward BAUMDICKER of Riverside. Funeral services were held at the Humphrey Funeral Home in Buena Vista last Friday with Rev. SHELBY in charge. Music was furnished by Bonnie and Virginia TURNER and Anabel STEVENS. Pallbearers: Nick THEODORAN, John PERSCHBACHER, Frank McFADDEN, Will McFADDEN, Ed SANDERS, and Pete THOMAS. (Chaffee County Republican 10 Dec 1943) (Marker; BV Town Hall Records) (1900 and 1910 census) BAUMDICKER, Rudolph Edward b. 21 Jan 1889; d. 6 Jun 1946 (Marker) He was born Jan 21, 1889, and passed away in the hospital in Salida on the 6th of June, 1946. He was born on the family ranch at Pine Creek, and moved with his parents and brothers to Granite at the age of 8. In 1907 they moved back to the ranch where the family now resides. On July 23, 1918, Mr. BAUMDICKER was inducted into the service and served with the 39th Balloon Co. at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, until the end of the war. On Sept. 4, 1929, he married Miss Mary WEST. To this union two (sic) children were born, Edward and Bonnie BAUMDICKER. He leaves his widow, three (sic) children, a brother Carl and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, his mother, and brother Walter. He was a kind and loving father and a good neighbor. Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. at the family home. Burial was at the family plot on the ranch. Pallbearers were Harve FLOWERS, Ben BEHRMAN, Joe JOHNSON, Nick THEODORAN, William McFADDEN and John PERSCHBACHER. Out-of-town relatives in attendance were: Mr. and Mrs. Bainer RUNDGREN (sic) and family of Dillon, Colorado, Mr. & Mrs. M. A. WEST, Mr. & Mrs. A. G. WEST, and Mr.& Mrs. C. WEST, all of Salida. (Chaffee County Republican 14 Jun 1946) BAUMDICKER, Walter F. Born Sep 1886, died 8 Aug 1931, eldest living child of Frank and Antonie BAUMDICKER. Farmer for his father; single. (See obituary of Frank BAUMDICKER.) LANGHOFF, John Born Jul 1829 in Germany. Died Feb 15, 1913 or 1914 at 7:00 A.M. at his farm near Riverside, 85 years, 7 months, 11 days. Funeral held at the home; burial in family plot on nearby ranch next to wife who died 22 years before. Uncle to Frank BAUMDICKER; immigrated in 1845 or 1872. (1900 and 1910 census) LANGHOFF, Alice (Mrs. John) Died about 1891 or 1892 (Was 54 years old in the 1885 Colorado State Census, p. 24, E.D. #1) RUST, A. L. Who for sometime was a resident of Riverside, making his home with Frank BAUMDICKER, died on Tuesday of last week, and was buried by Undertaker WEBB Monday. He had relatives in the South.
