Henry R Hay Dies Suddenly Today Henry R Hay, prominent businessman and owner of the Hay Studio, died suddenly at 9 o;clock this morning of a heart attack. Mr. Hay had been suffering for several days with a heart ailment and developed the flu last night. He was taken to the Rio Grande hospital only a short time before he died. Mr. Hay was born July 15, 1865 in Banff, Scotland and was 71 years old. He came to this country from Scotland when he was a young man. He had resided in Salida for nearly 30 years, coming here from Albany, New York. Mr. Hay had conducted the only photography business here during his 29 years residence in Salida. He purchased the Studio from Frank Ray. He was a member of the Masonic order. Mr. Hay was one of the most highly respected citizens of the community and his death comes as a shock to his host of friends. He possessed a happy disposition and friendly nature which won him many life long friends among his business acquaintances. He leaves one daughter, Miss Louie Hay, to mourn his loss. Miss Hay is seriously ill at her home, 1040 F street, with the flu. The body is at the Stewart Mortuary. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
