IRVING WARD DEAD ---------- One of Colorado's Pioneer Women Expires in New York. Denver friends have been notified of the recent death in New York of Sarah Elizabeth Troup Ward, wife of Irving Ward, a former resi- dent of Clear Creek, and Gilpin Counties. Mrs. Ward was the only daughter of the late William S. Troup, one of the last New York merchants of the old school. Her mother was a mem- ber of the old colonial family of Coles. Mrs. Ward was highly accomplished, very charitable and deeply relig- ious, having been a communicant in the Episcopal Church since girlhood. Many older residents will remember Irving Ward as a lawyer, politician and incumbent of various public offices. He is one of the few surviving delegates to the state convention of 1880 that renominated Gov. Pitkin. =================================================== Contributed for use by the USGenWeb Archive Project (http://www.usgenweb.org) and by the COGenWeb Archive Project USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organization or persons.
