December 2, 1971

POMONA – Mrs. Anita A. Elze, wife of Walter E. Elze of 1401 W. 9th St., died Wednesday 
morning in Kaiser Hospital, Fontana, following five months of illness.

Mrs. Elze was born Feb. 14, 1920, in Sidney, Neb.  She came to California in 1942.  She 
lived in Santa Rosa before moving to Montclair in 1954.  She came to Pomona seven months 
ago.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Alan, in the U.S. Navy; a daughter, Avis of 
Pomona; two sisters, Zola Henderson of Long Beach and Mrs. Marie Snavely of Napa; two 
brothers, Virgil and Vincent Ely, both of Sidney, Neb.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Todd Memorial Chapel Pomona.  Herald 
Hilton and Clinton Halsteb will officiate.  Private burial will be in Rose Hills Memorial 
Park, Whittier.


Anita A. Ely Elze is my mother and was the daughter-in-law of Charles F. and Ida May Elze.
