Elze Schwarz, lifelong are resident, died Tuesday (10/2/1973) at St. Thomas More Hospital. She was born June 26, 1884 in the Wet Mountain Valley area of Westcliffe, Custer County, Colorado and was 89. She move dto Cano City in 1959, coming here from Silver Cliff, and was a housewife by occupation and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Chruch. Mrs. Schwarz was married December 9, 1911 at Canon City to Louis Fredrick Schwarz, who preceeded her in death in 1959. She was also preceed in death by a son, Amil, in 1955 and her father Robert Elze in 1951 and her mother Martha L. Ogreske Elze in 1950. Survivors include eight children, Earnest Schwarz of Silver Cliff, Herman Schwarz of Denver, Mrs. Rose Vigil of San Diego, Calif., Harry Schwarz of Colorado Springs, Harold Schwarz, Emma Curtis and Mrs. Vera McDermott, all of Canon City, and Louis Schwarz of Richland, Washington. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. Others survivors include four brothers and three sisters, Otto Elze and Arnold Elze, both of Westcliffe, Fritz Elze of Lincoln, Neb., Gottlieb Elze of Pueblo, Bertha Fisher of Denver, Selma Lensch of Westcliffe and Lena Rogers of Santa Fe, NM. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 am from St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Lowell Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Canon City, Colorado. Henryetta E.
