CLARK CALLED BY DEATH Succumbs After Long Illness: Resident of Paonia for Six Years Funeral services were held Sunday at the Methodist church for George A. Clark, who died at his home here Saturday after a long illness. The Rev. A.S. Weeks of Cedaredge officiated at the services and burial was made in Bethlehem cemetery. Mr. Clark, who was 56 years old, had been a resident of Paonia since 1920. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Okie, age 14, and Carrol, 9, and by a sister and a brother. A large circle of friends mourns his death. A sketch of his life prepared for the Paonian by a member of his family follows: George Anthony Clark, son of Isaac and Amanda Clark, was born at Ottumwa, Iowa, June 27, 1875. At the age of 2 years he moved with his parents to Leon, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. In September 1907, he united in marriage to Etta Gammon of Leon. To this union five sons were born, three of whom died in infancy. He united with the Christian church at the age of 15 and his steadfast faith was a great comfort and help in his past two years of constant suffering. He was kind and patient and always cheerful in all his sickness and suffering and was a faithful, loving husband and kind father. He was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge for the past sixteen years. In 1920 he moved with his family to Paonia, where he resided at the time of his death. File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/co/delta/obits/c/clark4gob.txt
