	Nov. 19, 1908 - May 24, 1987 Jesse C. Ensley of Delta died Sunday at 
his home.  He was 78.
	He was born Nov. 19, 1908, in Hollis, Okla.  He grew up in Read, where 
he attended school.  He had lived in the area since 1911.
	He married Agneta Butler on Dec. 15, 1935 in Delta.  She died March 
23, 1986.
	Mr. Ensley worked as a farmer and rancher.
	He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, the Delta Elks BPOE 
No. 1235 and had served on the Read School Board and on the Release Ditch Co. 
Board.
	He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  
	Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Starr of Delta and Janice 
Hotchkiss of Hotchkiss, a son, Bob of Delta, five sisters, Hattie Thompson of 
Ojai, Calif., Vera Waite of Springville, Utah, and Ida Simons, Velma Ashurst 
and Cleyta Warwick, all of Grand Junction; 11 grandchildren.
	Four brothers are deceased.
	Visitation will be 1-6 p.m., Tuesday at Roberts Funeral Home in 
Delta.  The rosary will be said at 7 p.m., Tuesday at St. Michael’s.  Mass 
will be 10 a.m., Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Vincente Paz en la Casa 
officiating.  Burial will be in the Delta City Cemetery.
