(Butler) Delta Independent Thursday March 27, 1986 pg. 15 Agneta A. Ensley, 74, a lifetime resident of Delta, died at 9 a.m. Sunday, March 23, 1986, in St. Mary's Hospital at Grand Junction following a brief illness. The former Agneta Butler was born Jan. 2, 1912, at Delta, a Daughter of Robert C. and Octavia O'Rourke Butler. She spent her childhood and attended schools at Delta. Her husband, Jesse C. Ensley, whom she married in St. Michael's Catholic Church at Delta Dec. 15, 1935, now is a retired rancher. Mrs. Ensley was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed flower gardening, hand sewing, quilting, doll making and hunting and fishing. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Marla Ensley of Delta; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sharon Star of Eckert and Janice and Dick Hotchkiss of Hotchkiss; a sister Lola Henderson of Denver; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a cousin, Gladys Shultz, of Horizons Nursing Home near Cory. Proceeding of her in death were two brothers and a sister. A vigil service was held for Mrs. Ensley at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, in St. Michael's Church at Delta. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church by the Rev. Vicente Paz en la Casa. Interment was in Delta City Cemetery. Roberts Funeral Home of Delta was in charge of arrangements.
