Delta County Independent: September 1915
	The death of Uncle Michael O’Rourke occurred Tuesday evening before 
six o’clock.  The aged man was surrounded by his wife and children when the 
summons came.  His death had been expected for several  weeks.
	The funeral will be held at the Catholic Church at 10 o’clock this 
morning, being conducted by Rev. Father Bertrand, and interment will follow in 
Delta cemetery.
	Deceased is survived by his wife and three married daughters, Mrs. Joe 
Armour, Mrs. Sam Snow and Mrs. W. E. McKie, to whom the community extends 
sympathy in their sorrow.
	Michael O’Rourke was born in Limerick, Ireland, September 29, 1830, 
and died in this city September 5, 1916; therefore he was 85 years, 11 months 
and 6 days of age.  He came to America in 1849; was married to Mary Devine at 
Montgomery City, MO, in 1857; came to Delta Colo., in 1895, and has resided 
here for over twenty-one years.
	Mr. O’Rourke has been a very active man all his life and up to a few 
years ago never knew what a sick day was.  He was highly respected and loved 
for his cheery disposition and friendliness to every one, and his smiling face 
will be missed from our midst.
	Peace to his ashes.
