	Nov. 1, 1900 - April 19, 1988 Gladys M. Shults, a resident of horizons 
Care Center in Cory, died Tuesday at Delta County Memorial Hospital after a 
lengthy illness.  She was 87.
	Mrs. Schults was a homemaker.
	She was born Nov. 1, 1900, to William and Essie Walker in Ouray; where 
she graduated from high school in 1918.  She later received a bachelor’s 
degree from Unity College in Kansas City, MO.  She then lived in Ouray until 
1946.
	She married Roy Shults Nov. 10, 1946, in Aztec, NM.  They moved to 
Delta in 1946 and then operated the San Miguel Ranch in Norwood for several 
years.  Mr. Shults died Oct. 13, 1964.
	She was previously married to Edward N. Haynes.  They were later 
divorced.
	Mrs. Shults then lived in Delta until she moved to Horizons Care 
Center at Cory in 1985.
	She enjoyed handiwork and especially knitting and crocheting. 
	Mrs. Shults was a member of the Delta United Methodist Church, the 
Garnet Chapter No. 39 of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Royal neighbors of 
America and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
	Survivors include a son, Edward Haynes of San Diego; two step 
daughters, Lou Ann Stoll of Oklahoma City, and Helen Boothe of Clifton; a 
granddaughter; and three cousins.  A brother, Oliver Walker, is deceased.
	Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Roberts Funeral 
Home chapel in Delta with the Rev. Pat Malone and members of the OES Garnet 
Chapter No. 39 officiating.  Burial will be in the Delta City Cemetery.
	Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary.
