Stark, George H.
Delta County Independent Thursday Aug. 7, 1947 pg. 2.
	Funeral services for George H. Stark, 77, were held Tuesday morning at 
St. Michael’s Catholic church with Father Joseph Minot officiating.  Burial 
was in the Delta Cemetery under the direction of the Lamar Funeral Home.
	George H. Stark, 423 Dodge Street was born March 28, 1870, in 
Jugslavia, and died Aug. 3, 1947 in Grand Junction after a prolonged illness.  
He came to America when he was 16 and in August 1898 he enlisted in the United 
States Army, and served three years in the Philippines in the Spanish American 
War.  In 1907 he married Margaret Ann Osterman in Leadville.  He spent most of 
his life in the mining districts of Colorado and had been a resident of Delta 
County for 25 years.
	Mr. Stark is survived by 11 children:  Joseph, George Jr., Mary 
Butler, Mark, Frank, Mike and Henry Stark and Lily Ball all of Delta, and 
Margaret Dwyer Leadville.  Helen Davis and John Stark of Denver.  He is also 
survived by 13 grandchildren.
