Clark Elderfinder@aol.com November 3, 2002, 9:10 am John Wicliffe Stucker of Hotchkiss was born in Washington County, Iowa on March 9, 1870, and died Feb. 23 [1955] at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the son of Larkin and Jane Stucker. Later, the family moved to Kansas. In 1887 he was married to Nina Grace Bullis, and to this union four sons and three daughters were born. They made their home near Salina, Kan. until moving to Colorado in 1918. He is survived by his wife, at their home in Hotchkiss; four sons, Arnold of Paonia, Abb of Grand Junction, Harry of Hotchkiss and Earl of Delta; three daughters, Mrs. Dott Hutchins of Hendley, Neb., Mrs. Grace McMillan of Hotchkiss, Mrs. Ida Tucker of Sacramento, Calif.; a brother, Nate Stucker of Paonia and a sister, Mrs. Callie Cox of Palacios, Texas; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Hotchkiss Community Methodist Church on Feb. 27. Services were conducted by Rev. Everett Matz of Hotchkiss and Jack Stewart of Olathe. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Sic grandsons were pallbearers. They are Paul Stucker, Harry A. Stucker and Rex Stucker, all of Grand Junction; Harold Stucker of Glenwood Springs, Donald Stucker of Ft. Collins and Marvin Stucker of Paonia. ============== Out of town members of the Stucker family who were here for the funeral of John Stucker were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hutchens of Hendley, Nebr.; the Abb Stucker family of Grand Junction; the Earl Stucker family of Delta; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Stucker of Paonia, all sons and daughters; and the following granddaughters and grandsons: Mr. and Mrs. Howard Edgeman of Pueblo; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Stucker of Glenwood Springs; Donald Stucker of Ft. Collins; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Stucker and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stucker of Grand Junction. From Paonia were Mr. and Mrs. Nate Stucker, a brother, and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Pottorf and family, a niece.
