Walker, William J.
	Ouray lost a pioneer resident August 10th when William John Walker, 86 
died suddenly at his home.
	Mr. Walker was born in Clinton County, Ill.  January 14 1870 and moved 
to Ouray as a young man.  He was well known and well liked in Ouray and his 
many friends will miss him.  Mr. Walker spent many years as a guard at the 
Camp Bird mine and as a law enforcement officer in Ouray.
	Mrs. Walker proceeded her husband in death in 1953.  He leaves two 
children:  Oliver "Tillie" Walker of Ouray and Mrs. Roy Shults (Gladys) of 
Delta and one grandson in the armed services.
	Funeral services were held Aug. 14th at the Flor Funeral Home with Leo 
Flor officiating.  A hymn was sung by Mrs. Dorothy Davis accompanied by Evelyn 
Bates, Pallbearers were Glen Hopkins, Earl Hoskins, Bob Robinson, Frank 
Massard, Jess Ensley and William Cuthbert.
	Interment was in the Delta Cemetery.
