Pioneer Resident of Ouray Dies
	Delta - Funeral services for Mrs. William J. Walker, 67, of Ouray, 
Western Slope Pioneer will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Methodist 
Church here.  Interment will be in Delta Cemetery, directed by the Flor 
Funeral Home of Ouray.
	Mrs. Walker passed away at 8:10 p.m. Monday at her home in Ouray,. 
After being in ill health several years.
	Born Dec. 30, 1876, in Greensboro, N. C., Mrs. Walker came to Colorado 
with her parents at the age of nine years.  The family settled on California 
Mesa, near Delta, and she attended rural schools in the community.  She 
married William J. Walker in Delta. Dec. 28, 1899, and the couple went to 
Ouray as newlyweds.  They lived in Ouray almost 54 years, leaving there only 
for short periods. 
	Surviving her are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Roy Shults of Delta; 
and a son, William Oliver Walker of Ouray.
