April 20, 1911, page 2 http://files.usgwarchives.net/co/denver/obits/b/brown_timothy_1911.txt Transcribed and Contribted by: Rita Timm 2001 - 2002 ================================================= PIONEER LAWYER IS DEAD Timothy Brown, a prominent pioneer lawyer of Mashalltown, Iowa, but for the past ten years a resident of Denver, died Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Antoinette Murphy, 2808 West Twenty-seventh Avenue. Brown was born in the East, but moved to Iowa in 1858 and engaged in the practice of law. When he crossed the Mississippi River he had less than $20 in cash and rose from a position of comparative poverty to one of prominence. He was the author of "Brown On Jurisdiction," a work used universally, by members of the bar and bench.
