Gabriel Kindle, father of Supervisor George J. Kindle, died last night after an illness that began two years ago, when a gradual decline began, with loss of sight. Kindel was 80 years old, and had been a resident of Denver for twenty-six years. Death occur- red at the family home 1548 Navajo Street. Four weeks ago, member of the family thought that the end was near. Although illness had weakened him, Kindel rallied from this illness and seemed better. His remarkable vitality could not overcome the disease, though, and he gradually sank until the end came yesterday. Gabriel Kindel was born in Bavaria, Germany, and came to American when 13 years old. His home for many years was in Cincinnati, where he was engaged in the manufacturing cooperage business. He made a competence from his business, and a quarter of a century ago came to Denver where several of his children had settled. He invested in real estate, and during the remainder of his life did not engage in active business. Until he became ill two years ago he enjoyed excellent health, and seemed destined to reach a remarkable age. He never took an active part in public affairs, but had a large circle of friends. For many years he had been one of the influential members of St. Elizabeth's Church. Seven children survive. George J. Kindel, Mrs. Mary A. Linder of Denver, Mrs. Alexander Brown of Denver, Mrs. C. K. Scholl of Denver, Nicholas G. Kindel of Denver and Charles J. Kindel and Miss Rose Kindel of Chicago. A date for the funeral will be announced later. Members of the family said last night that it would be private and that friends would be re- quested to not send flowers. =================================================== Contributed for use by the USGenWeb Archive Project (http://www.usgenweb.org) and by the COGenWeb Archive Project USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organization or persons.
