Mrs. Robert Smith, formerly Miss Agnes Anderson of Denver, was killed in a runaway accident near Roosevelt, Ariz., Saturday. Mrs. Smith was the only passenger on a stage which runs between Phoenix and Roosevelt, and she was on her way to join her husband to witness the opening of the Roosevelt Dam. While descending a steep grade, the brakes on the vehicle failed to work and the horses started on a wild run. The stage overturned and both the driver and Mrs. Smith were hurled from the stage. Mrs. Smith suffered several fractures and died a few hours later. The driver will recover. Mrs. Smith was the daughter of James Anderson, who lived in Denver many years. She was a graduate of West Denver High School. She went to Arizona five years ago. =================================================== Contributed for use by the USGenWeb Archive Project (http://www.usgenweb.org) and by the COGenWeb Archive Project USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organization or persons.
