North Side High School 1917 - Faculty & Senior Class Transcribed and contributed by: Leona L. Gustafson (GenealogyBug@Gustafson.net) Contributed: 26 Sep 2002 The Viking North Side High School Thirteenth Edition of the Annual Published by Class of 1917 -------------------------- IN MEMORIAM A brief, bright span of life and love, And then the Great Unknown, A while that all mankind may reap The good that we have sown. Then comes a voice from out the Deep, The call that all must heed, And from the dark and toil and strive An unseen hand may lead. But still about they memory clings The thought of service true, And from they life we all attain A broader, clearer view. Della Humphrey, '17. By the death of Miss Grace Alice garrett our school has lost one of its most efficient teachers. The faculty has lost a loyal member and the students a most sincere friend. After graduating from Denver University she spent two years in Rome teaching in the American College and studying German. After her return to Denver, she taught in North Side High School for several years. In order to show their love and appreciation, the students of the German Department have placed in Miss Garrett's classroom a bust of Schiller, a permanent and fitting memorial. Ruth Morgan, '17.
