Mar 1918 WWI Active Duty List, Newsclip, El Paso County, Colorado Transcribed for the USGenWeb Project by Marta Norton April 10, 2000 The Colorado Springs Gazette Newspaper (El Paso County, Colorado) Sunday, March 17, 1918 ROSTER OF THE CITIZENS OF EL PASO COUNTY NOW IN THE SERVICE OF THE UNITED STATES No absolutely complete list of men in service from El Paso County has ever been compiled because scores have enlisted from other cities in distant states whose homes are in Colorado Springs or its environs. The civilian relief section of Pikes Peak Chapter of the American Red Cross has gone to some pains to prepare a list of names of local men who are known to have joined the colors. Numerous requests have been made by the committee to local people to assist them in filling out the list and the names given on this page represent the result of its effort. Citizens of El Paso County who have friends or relatives in any branch of the government service who are not on the roster will confer upon the men as well as upon the Red Cross committee by informing the offices in the Hagerman building.
